Junior Mechanical design engineer

If you have a background in engineering, manufacturing, design and product development It is an exciting opportunity to join our team as we are going to develop a High voltage and high energy density battery pack. You would have the opportunity to get involved in upcoming projects in EV prototype battery work.

We are looking for a Mechanical design engineer intern who will take ownership of design and development of a high-performance battery systems and sub systems. you will responsible for the CAD design and packaging of all the components that make up the battery pack including the cell, cooling systems and battery enclosure. You will join us on a full-time intern in return for a competitive salary depending on previous experience.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Benchmark the current market batteries with respect to cell type, energy density, weight, vehicle type, range.
  • Design the battery pack components like modules, housing, cooling system.
  • Perform the cooling requirement calculations for given battery pack.
  • Preparation of battery system and component quality documentation (boundary diagrams, P diagrams, robustness check lists).
  • Liaises with relevant teams to support battery design tasks (i.e. simulation, component engineers, testing, suppliers and manufacturing).
  • Assessment of simulation results and defining next steps.
  • Creation of battery pack components drawings.
  • Gives input to BOM activities.
What you need:
  • Intern/6 months to 1 year of engineering experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience in any CAD software is an added advantage
  • Experience designing metallic parts
  • Experience with battery system design and development
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly
  • Must be self-motivated and a great team worker

Junior Electrical design engineer

We are looking for an Electrical design engineer intern who will take ownership of design and development of high-performance battery electrical systems and sub systems. you will responsible for the CAD design and packaging of the electrical and electronic components that make up the battery pack including the cell, High voltage and Low voltage systems.

You will join us on a full-time intern in return for a competitive salary depending on previous experience.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Benchmark the current market batteries with respect to cell type, energy density, weight, vehicle type, range.
  • Prepare high voltage electrical schematic for given project.
  • Prepare low voltage schematic for given project.
  • Design low voltage wiring harness by using CAD software (NX/CATIA).
  • Choose/Select correct High voltage electrical components
  • Specification, design, and integration of electrical assemblies and systems.
  • Support to mechanical designers in integration of high and low voltage components within battery pack
  • Calculate the busbar sizes, temperature rise and choose appropriate busbar materials
  • Participate in DFMEA with respect to electrical components
What you need:
